Lechon Catering FAQ — Billy The Pig

Question 1

How far in advance do I need to order?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance, especially for weekends and holidays. For large events (80 lbs+) or peak summer dates, 4–6 weeks is ideal. Last-minute orders may be available — contact us and we'll do our best.

Question 2

How do I place an order?

Accepted Answer

Use our Request a Pig form on the website, text or call us at (888) 789-4659, or message us on Facebook. We'll confirm availability for your date, go over the details, and lock in your order.

Question 3

Do you require a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we require a deposit to secure your date. The deposit amount and payment details will be confirmed when you book. The balance is due before or on delivery day.

Question 4

Can I cancel or reschedule my order?

Accepted Answer

Life happens — contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. Cancellations made well in advance may receive a partial refund of the deposit. We'll work with you to find a solution.

Question 5

Do you cater on holidays?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Holidays like Christmas, New Year's, Easter, and Fourth of July are some of our busiest times. Book early — holiday slots fill up fast.

Question 6

What size pig do I need for my event?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule: a 30 lb pig feeds 20–30 guests, a 40 lb pig feeds 30–40, a 60 lb pig feeds 50–70, an 80 lb pig feeds 70–90, and a 120 lb pig feeds 100–130. If lechon is the star of the show (not just one of many dishes), size up. We're happy to help you choose.

Question 7

What's the difference between the pig sizes you offer?

Accepted Answer

We offer De Leche (suckling pig, 30 lbs, $550), Cochinillo (30 lbs, $550), Small Pig (30 lbs, $550), Medium Pig (40 lbs, $650), Large Pig (60 lbs, $850), XLarge (80 lbs, $1,050), and XXLarge (120 lbs, $1,450). De Leche and Cochinillo are younger, smaller pigs with more tender meat and extra-crispy skin. Larger pigs are ideal for big parties.

Question 8

Can I order more than one pig?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Many of our clients order two pigs for very large events (200+ guests) or to offer variety. Contact us to discuss multi-pig orders — we'll make sure everything is coordinated for your event.

Question 9

What if I'm not sure how many guests are coming?

Accepted Answer

When in doubt, size up. Leftover lechon is never a problem — it reheats beautifully and makes incredible sandwiches the next day. We'd rather you have extra than run short at your fiesta.

Question 10

What makes your lechon Cebuano style?

Accepted Answer

Cebuano lechon is seasoned from the inside — stuffed with lemongrass, green onions, garlic, and aromatics — then slow-roasted over charcoal and BBQ wood for 4–8 hours. The result is intensely flavorful meat and the crispiest skin you've ever had. No sauce needed (though we love a good liver sauce on the side).

Question 11

How long does the roasting take?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the size of the pig, roasting takes 4–8 hours. We handle all the prep and cooking — your pig arrives hot, golden, and ready to carve.

Question 12

Is the skin really crispy?

Accepted Answer

Yes — crispy skin is our obsession. We slow-roast over charcoal and wood, basting throughout, to achieve that signature crackling that shatters when you bite into it. It's the most requested part of the pig.

Question 13

Do you use a spit roaster or an oven?

Accepted Answer

We use a traditional spit roaster over charcoal and BBQ wood — the authentic method that gives lechon its distinctive smoky flavor and crispy skin. No shortcuts, no ovens.

Question 14

What sides do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We offer a variety of Filipino sides including pancit, rice, lumpia, and more. Side availability and pricing are confirmed at booking. You can also pair our lechon with your own sides — it goes with everything.

Question 15

Do you deliver or do I pick up?

Accepted Answer

We deliver directly to your event venue. The pig arrives hot and ready to carve — no need to pick anything up or worry about transport. Delivery fees may apply depending on distance.

Question 16

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve the greater Los Angeles area (Long Beach, Carson, Cerritos, Compton, El Monte, Pomona, Riverside) and the Las Vegas metro area (Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Green Valley Ranch, Boulder City). Contact us if your city isn't listed — we may still be able to help.

Question 17

Do you set up at the venue?

Accepted Answer

We deliver the whole roasted pig on a carving board, ready to serve. We can assist with setup and carving guidance. For full-service catering with staff, contact us to discuss options.

Question 18

What time will the pig arrive?

Accepted Answer

We coordinate delivery time with you when you book. We aim to arrive 30–60 minutes before your event starts so the pig is hot and ready when your guests arrive.

Question 19

What types of events do you cater?

Accepted Answer

We cater all kinds of celebrations: birthday parties, fiestas, weddings, quinceañeras, baptisms, graduations, corporate events, holiday parties, backyard BBQs, and more. If you're celebrating, we're there.

Question 20

Can you cater a backyard party?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — backyard fiestas are our specialty. We deliver the whole roasted pig right to your home. Just make sure there's a table or surface for carving and you're good to go.

Question 21

Do you cater corporate events?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lechon is a showstopper at corporate events, team celebrations, and company parties. We've catered everything from small team lunches to large company-wide events. Contact us for corporate pricing and availability.

Question 22

Can lechon be the centerpiece of a Filipino-themed party?

Accepted Answer

It's basically required. Lechon is the heart of every Filipino fiesta — it's the dish everyone gathers around, photographs, and talks about. Pair it with pancit, rice, lumpia, and halo-halo for the full experience.
